Scarlett came to the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County as a stray, having been found on the run with another dog.

It was apparent to the staff that she desperately needed medical attention; she had dramatic hair loss and scarring, her nails had grown out to an uncomfortable length, and she was very lethargic.

Thankfully, since her arrival nearly three months ago, Scarlett has recovered.

While we thought she may have had a skin condition, all it took was some medicated shampoo to treat an allergy. She received a bath every four days for over a month. Her beautiful gray coat has since returned, and she is looking better and better every day.

She also has her energy back.

In her ideal home, Scarlett would love to be the only pet so she does not have to share attention. She is a sweet girl who is very treat-motivated, and happens to be a huge fan of peanut butter.
